Our Y6 teams at the recent Jaguar Primary School Challenge performed brilliantly winning the Regional Final with the Fastest Car and the Best Pit Display. They will now go on to the National Final – great staff and lovely children who were delighted they won!!
Our schools enjoyed another very successful year with Young Enterprise. Charlton, HLC and Ercall Wood Academy all entered teams gaining numerous nominations and awards. LCT also sponsor an award at the event to the most successful youngest teams in the competition in Year 10 or Y11. The photo shows Dr Eatough CEO presenting the LCT Award.
We had our first LCT Rugby match this week with boys playing against each other from across our schools. They look the part in the photograph! The boys really enjoyed it and it is great to see them benefitting from our PE staff working together.
We all really enjoyed the final of our first ever Trust banquet competition last night! Students from across our schools prepared three course meals which were incredibly impressive. The judges struggled to chose the winning dishes. The chosen dishes will now be prepared by our students at our Trust banquet in June for 50 guests.
All our secondary schools are performing shows this month. I had the privilege of watching HLC’s performance of West Side Story last week which was absolutely brilliant. This week I am really looking forward to The Sound of Music at Charlton and The Little Shop of Horrors at Ercall Wood. We have some fantastically talented young people in our schools!
Each of our school’s is holding a competition to prepare a great three course meal, the winners from each school will take part in the grand final in March. These images are from Ercall Wood Academy last week – well done, the results were amazing! I am looking forward to judging the final with colleagues- Dr Eatough.
Y11 students from Charlton, Ercall Wood and HLC had a fabulous day yesterday with James Cousin’s Dance Company preparing a piece for their GCSE Dance. It is brilliant to see our students all learning together and enjoying a shared project.
We wish all our staff, students, parents and community a Very Happy Christmas and a peaceful 2019.
Thank you to all curriculum leaders and Senior staff who met last week, some fantastic joint projects being developed across our schools.
I have really enjoyed attending all our secondary schools Open Evenings over the last three weeks and meeting parents. If you missed these and want to visit one of our schools then please do not hesitate to contact the relevant school.
