Many, many congratulations to Ola and Brook in Y10 from HLC Secondary. Ola won 1st Place in the Speakers Trust “Speak Out” Challenge Regional Final with a speech “BE Kind” and Brook won 2nd place with “Barbie – The Criminal Mastermind”. They now proceed to the West Midland Final on the 8th July in Birmingham – a fantastic achievement!
Another first for LCT! Our amazing students across our three secondary schools prepared a three course meal for Headteachers, senior staff, staff, Governors and Trustees. Many, many congratulations to our HLC Primary Y6 ‘STEM GEMS’ team who took part in the national finals of the Jaguar STEM competition. They did brilliantly wining the “Star Quality Team Award”. This is an incredible achievement and the girls are so proud of their award. Engineers of tomorrow!!
Ercall Wood’s Y7 and Y8 football team beat Charlton in their football final last night to win their first silverware! Well done boys and fantastic to see such great competition between our schools!
Our Y6 teams at the recent Jaguar Primary School Challenge performed brilliantly winning the Regional Final with the Fastest Car and the Best Pit Display. They will now go on to the National Final – great staff and lovely children who were delighted they won!!
Our schools enjoyed another very successful year with Young Enterprise. Charlton, HLC and Ercall Wood Academy all entered teams gaining numerous nominations and awards. LCT also sponsor an award at the event to the most successful youngest teams in the competition in Year 10 or Y11. The photo shows Dr Eatough CEO presenting the LCT Award.
We had our first LCT Rugby match this week with boys playing against each other from across our schools. They look the part in the photograph! The boys really enjoyed it and it is great to see them benefitting from our PE staff working together.
We all really enjoyed the final of our first ever Trust banquet competition last night! Students from across our schools prepared three course meals which were incredibly impressive. The judges struggled to chose the winning dishes. The chosen dishes will now be prepared by our students at our Trust banquet in June for 50 guests.
