Within the Learning Community Trust, we offer a comprehensive and supportive programme of professional learning to support Early Career Teachers (ECTs) so that they can flourish in the classroom. We believe it is vitally important to support new teachers into the profession.

We work in conjunction with our local teaching school hub, Shropshire and Telford Education Partnership (STEP), and Best Practice Network (BPN) to deliver the Early Career Framework (ECF): a ‘solid evidence-based development programme’ to ensure our ECTs go on to have a ‘long and successful career’.

As part of the ECF, our ECTs will be given dedicated time to work closely with their in-school subject mentor and attend a variety of online and face-to-face professional learning sessions, broadening their skills and developing their confidence as a practitioner in the classroom.

Joining the LCT Trust, you will receive:

Year 1
90% timetable – this reduction allows you to invest in your professional learning
Weekly 1hr subject mentor meeting to provide ‘support and challenge’
Online and face-to-face facilitated professional learning delivered by ‘leading experts’
Access to BPN self-directed study materials featuring ‘rich multi-media content’

Year 2
95% timetable – this gradual increase allows you to continue to invest in your professional learning whilst adapting to the workload
Fortnightly 1hr subject mentor meeting to provide ‘support and challenge’
Online and face-to-face facilitated professional learning delivered by ‘leading experts’
Access to BPN self-directed study materials featuring ‘rich multi-media content’
